Senpai ry (formerly Turun Animeseura ry TAS) was established at the end of the year 1999. Our goal is to promote the knowledge of Japanese animation (anime) and comics (manga) as a hobby and to advance the communication and interaction between people interested in Japanese popular culture.
Senpai has arranged Finland’s first Animecon and its members do a lot of volunteering at different anime events in Finland.
Everyone interested in Japanese popular culture is welcome to join Senpai as a member. The membership fee is 7 Euros per calendar year, but if you join during the autumn semester (in September or later), you get the next year for free into the bargain. You can join at any time of the year, but the earlier you join, the more you get from your membership benefits. As a member you can take part in all our events and use our library. When you join Senpai you get a membership card which with you get significant discounts from our partners in Turku.
