Collaboration event with The Science Fiction Culture Cabinet at The University of Turku (a.k.a. Tutka). The Patlabor movies are political police thrillers set in the near future. In the first one the maligned Metropolitan Police Section 2 aims to thwart a convoluted terrorist plot. In the second movie Tokyo is threatened by a military takeover. For the icing on the cake we’ll also watch the post-apocalyptic short film Dragon’s Heaven, known for its terse and beautiful presentation.
